Over six hundred writtenacceptances were received, in addition to a large number of acceptances telephoned toour Passenger Department, and it was-estima-ted by a representative of the BaltimorePoHce Department, who was on hand, that atleast 1,800 persons in all visited the newdining cars on their baptismal day.The ceremony itself was simple. Holzhouser, of the Martha Washington 20 Baltimore and Ohio Magazine, June, iQ2j the left, acting as sponsor for the MountVernon. Esther Jane Van Sant, daughterof the editor of the Magazine, who passedthe bottles frcm a flower trimmed basketto the two sponsors, is in the foreground,and on her left is William A. Dickey III,grandson of Vice President Galloway. Promptly at 3.20, while photographersand motion picture operators were gettingpictures of the group, Miss Shriver, witha lusty blow, smashed the bottle on thesteel side of the Martha Washington, atthe same time saying: I Christen TheeMartha Washington.
