Bar Mount : Early-medieval
Description
English: A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting, possible bar mount of Early-medieval in date (AD 700-1066). The object is composed of a flat plate, large stylised zoomorphic terminal at either end in the form of a forward facing animal head with bulbous protruding eyes, and well formed snout. The centre of the plate has a single integrally cast circular rivet hole. The plate also contains four, regularly place, protruding two stepped decoration along one side. The object has been bent over itself to create a loop.

The metal is a mid to light green in colour.
