Title
Belt fitting
Description
English: Copper alloy strap fitting. The fitting is rectangular, thin and slightly convex in profile. There are two openwork triangular sections in the centre of the plate, each having two curved sides thus making the two remaining solid sections semi-circular. There is a rivet hole in each corner. The perimeter of the plate is decorated with a border containing repeated incised lines. The object looks like some early Roman military belt fittings, howver the poor quality of object and its incised decoration may suggest a medieval date.
