the midstof the waters. Now, this firmament is the second Heaven,made on the second day; and it is in the midst of the waters,in the earth; midst meaning the center. Second: and let it(the firmament) divide the waters from the waters, means thedividing of the Earth into two separate worlds, one inside ofthe other. SECOND DIVISION. 7. And God made the firmament, (or third heaven,) anddivided the waters which were under the firmament from thewaters which were above the firmament, and it was so. Thisdivides it a second time, showing a perfect separation of thesecond primitive part into two worlds, or all the Earth intothree separate parts. 8. And God called the firmament heaven, and the eveningand the morning were the second day. Note.—Fig. 2 represents the transit of the Earth from the primitivestate to the second grade—a heaven in the midst of the waters ; the divid-ing of the waters from the waters of the second heaven, and of the firma-ment of the third heaven* and its division.
