Hearing of this, on my return, I wentto the Aldermen, all of whom were guilty,and told them that they and all others who-were guilty would have to be fined; threeout of five submitted and paid up, but theyInsisted that the ordinance be changed to-read exactly as it is written here, with theexception that all could shoot Robins inthe town until the first of March; where-upon I resigned, as was stated. It is estimated that about four thou-sand Robins were killed during the fewdays that the birds were here. This ofcourse, does not include the county, butjust in and around the town. In the report of a trip to the coast ofVirginia by Mr. H. H. Cleaves, publishedin the November-December Bird-Lore,the dates given should have been June in-stead of July. The pictures which accom-panied the article were taken on WrackIsland.
