Eu me chamo vermelho. Sou alegre e cantador. Minha cor eleva alegria, soa fogo e expira amor.

Sou bastante inteligente, adoro gente e não sinto dor. Quando me machuco eu canto ,grito, pulo e me encho de calor.

Minha cor é tão bela, que todas as garotas gritam e eu me acho um ator. Sou feliz e vou contudo, não tenho medo de cair , se me derrubarem eu levanto e canto até ninguém mais resistir.

Sou charmoso e falo bem, minha voz é uma fofura, quem me ouve pede bis , grita , chora e pula.

Eu moro na natureza, tenho vários igual a mim, se você procurar com calma , me acha bem quietinho aqui.

Observo bem de longe , minha amiga é a coruja, ela me ajuda só de noite porque ela é bem noturna, mas eu confio é na raposa , ela é muito mais menina , ela pensa que me que é esperta , mas quando vê já estou na esquina.

E assim eu vou levando minha vida de cigano, porque sou um pássaro muito lindo com esse cabelo moicano .

COCK-OF-THE-ROCK, 8/7 Life-size. THE COCK OF THE ROCK. (^ HE Cock-of-the-Rock lives in ^ Guiana. Its nest is found (J among the rocks. T. K ~~ Salmon says: I once wentto see the breeding place of the Cock-of-the-Rock ; and a darker or wilderplace I have never been in. Follow-ing up a mountain stream thegorge became gradually more en-closed and more rocky, till I arrivedat the mouth of a cave with high rockon each side, and overshadowed byhigh trees, into which the sun neverpenetrated. All was wet and dark,and the only sound heard was therushing of the water over the rocks.We had hardly become accustomed tothe gloom when a nest was found, adark bird stealing away from whatseemed to be a lump of mud upon theface of the rock. This was a nestof the Cock-of-the-Rock, containingtwo eggs ; it was built upon a pro-jecting piece, the body being madeof mud or clay, then a few sticks,and on the top lined with green moss.It was about five feet from the water.I did not see the male bird, and, inde
