In the middle of the night a great noise inthe room woke the master, and he got up to seewhat was the matter. There, on the floor, was aman flat on his back, while Nero stood over himgrowling in a way that said, Lie still if you wishto keep a w^hole skin. 6. It isnot so fine as that of a cat, but it is enough tokeep him warm in cold weather. 4. The cat has a round head, but Rovers head 40 LESSONXII I.— (Continued.) is long and his nose is blunter than that of thecat. Rovers ears are a great deal larger thanthose of a cat, and they hang down by the side ofhis head. Some dogs have ears that stand up andpoint forward. 5. My sister has a little white terrier, Gyp,whose hair is silky and much longer than Eovers, and it hangs down over his eyes in a very funnyway. He can see very well for all that. 6.
