1. Puff was a tiny little temer and a greatpet. He came by his name from a way he had ofmaking a great fuss, and getting out of breathabout nothing. Baby was crazy to get hold of him,and, when she saw Puff, she would wriggle out ofany ones arms to get to him. 2. The children needed only say, Baby, Puffis coming, when she would give a crow of delight,and out went her little arms, fingers, and legs, allworking together. 3. But Puffs hair was long and his skin ten-der, and, when babys fingers got hold of him, hishowls were dreadful, and he never got away with-out leaving some of his coat in babys fingers. 64 LESSON XX .— (Continued.) 4. One day baby was asleep on the sofa, andPufp tbouglit it was a good time to look at her,now that he could do so without fear. It wasfunny to see him creep along, peering into thelittle sleeping face, but ready to start back in amoment.
