Borer : Neolithic
Description
English: A complete flint borer of Neolithic date (4300-1500 BC). The lithic is sub-triangular in profile with a convex dorsal surface and a smooth flat ventral surface. A large spur projects from the distal left hand edge creating a notched and bulbous projection along the length of the right hand edge. There is abrupt retouch to the left and right hand edges, the dorsal surface is coved by longitudinal flaking. The ventral surface is smooth with shallow ripples of percussion emanating from the proximal end and minor flakes removed at the proximal edge.

The flint is a dark brown with orange and cream inclusions throughout.
