Title
Boss mount
Description
English: A copper alloy mount, probably of medieval or post-medieval date, c. AD 1400 to 1700.

The object is sub-circular in plan with some irregular breaks however these have a patina consistent with the rest of the object which suggests that they are not recent. On the front of the object has a sub-circular knop. The object has a concave reverse which is undecorated however there is some ferrous corrosion from the knop on the front but may also have been the means of attaching the mount to a a larger object.

There is a similar object recorded on the PAS database, see LANCUM-64D34F.
