Norman Angus, New Zealand Rifle Brigade brief metal bottle with khaki felt cover; cover fits over small metal knob at base and has four dome fasteners down one side; cork stopper with metal cap; leather carry strap around body and around neck clip attachment and with short leather strap attached to lid markings- leather strap marked- "LT. N. ANGUS N.Z.R.B."

Notes Water bottle collected by 23-1285 Lieut. Norman Angus, New Zealand Rifle Brigade 23-1285 Captain Norman Angus – Samoa Advance Party and NZRB Norman Angus of Alfred Street Remuera, enlisted at the outbreak of war and took part in the Samoa Advance Party which left New Zealand on the 14 August 1914. On his return from Samoa he re-enlisted with the 1st Battalion New Zealand Rifle Brigade, embarking with C Company on 9 October 1915. Captain Angus was present at the Battle of Messines on 6th-7th June 1917 and brought home several souvenirs from that engagement.
