Bottle of 'Nutrinon', London, England, 1749-1900
Title
Bottle of 'Nutrinon', London, England, 1749-1900
Description

The lurid red colour of ‘Nutrinon’ may not look appealing to everybody, but it was sold as a general tonic for conditions affecting the nerves as well as for those convalescing. One tablespoonful mixed with water was taken before meals or as directed by the physician. The product was typical of numerous medical tonics that would have been sold ‘over the counter’ in chemists shops across the country.

Made by Savory & Moore Ltd (manufacturing chemists), the name was probably a play on the word ‘nutrition’.

maker: Savory and Moore Limited
