Greater Dobchick. Ed-vj.av. Br. Zool. 133. 360. fig. 2. THIS differs from the great crefted Grebe inbeing rather lefs, and wanting the creft andruff. The fides of the neck are ftriped downwardsfrom the head with narrow lines of black andwhite: in other refpects the colors and marks agreewith that bird. This fpecies has been (hot on Rofteme Mere inChejbire; is rather fcarce in England, but is com-mon in the winter time on the lake of Geneva.They appear there in flocks of ten or twelve : andare killed for the fake of their beautiful (kins. * The Grebes and Divers are placed in the fame genus,i. e. of Colymbi, by Mr. Ray and Linnseus; but the differenceof the feet, forbade our judicious friend, M.
