Bronze Age Socketed Axehead
Description
English: The broken tip of a cast copper alloy socketed axehead of late Bronze Age date. The fragment consists of the crescent-shaped cutting edge, which measures 32.7mm from blade tip to blade tip, and a 19.7mm length of the axehead, including the end of the elliptical socket. At its widest surviving point the axehead measures 11mm. The surfaces are slightly pitted and the edges are rather corroded. The fragment has been bent out of shape.
