Title
Bronze Age Thumbnail Scraper
Description
English: A flint thumbnail scraper of Early Bronze Age date. The scraper has been made from a secondary flake (c. 5% cortex remaining at the proximal end) of slightly mottled light to mid grey flint. It is fresh and complete. The pronouced bulb or percussion on the ventral surface suggests the use of a hard hammer. The dorsal surface has recorticated, suggesting the reuse of an old flake, and this has been removed by short semi-abrupt to abrupt retouch around the distal end and part way up the lateral sides.
