Title
Bronze Age dagger blade
Description
English: Middle Bronze Age copper alloy probably a dirk of Type Keelogue dating 1400 to 1100BC and belonging to the Acton Park MW tradition of the Middle Bronze Age. The daggers edges are corroded but fairly intact. The blade has a central midrib and is broken and probably had two rivets. The blade is lentoid in section, narrow, tapering with angled sides. The tip of the blade is slightly sub-rounded which is more likely to relate to a dagger and appears to be intact. Burgess and Gerloff write: "This type is characterised by broad and heavy blades, with wide trapezoidal butts which are usually low but may be rounded. The blades are mostly plain and have bevelled edges [...] (Burgess and Gerloff 1981, 24; Plates 17-19, especially nos. 103, 108 and 111). Similar to NMS-86EF32 DENO-8C43E1 and GLO-C54785 on the database.

The length is 123mm, width 31mm, thickness 4mm, and the weight 37.90g.
