Title
Bronze Age lithic implement: end scraper
Description
English: A large, sub-oval, flint, end scraper. The scraper has been manufactured from a primary flake of dark grey flint. There is a flat striking platform and a clear bulb of percussion at the proximal end of the flake, with ripples of percussion across the ventral face. The dorsal face is largely covered in a thick, off-white cortex. The scraper has been abruptly and steeply pressure flaked around the distal end to form a scraping edge. There is also some recent damage to this distal end where a small area has been lost. These types of end scrapers date to the Early Bronze Age.
