Description
English: Copper alloy

Buckle Plate fragment (as identified by finder). Sheet metal fragment bearing traces of two rivet holes of diameter 3mm at one edge; the other edge is torn. The upper and lower edges are straight, possibly convergent, with borders of paired lines formed by a series of linear punch marks. The field between the borders is occupied by chevron ornament, made up of a series of round punch-marks. Suggested date: Medieval, 1250-1450. Length: 17.8mm, Width/Height: 23.2mm, Thickness (sheet): 0.5mm, Weight: 0.83gms.
