FERRY-MORSE SEED CO. 13 NARCISSUS or DAFFODIL Culture—Daffodils and Narcissus appear to greater advantage if planted in partial shade. This will prolong their bloom and will help to retain the color of the red and orange cup varieties. Set bulbs from four to five inches deep and eight inches apart. Do not cut the leaves after blooming, but let them die back; if cut back severely, you will have no flowers the following season. Trumpet Daffodils The flowers of this class are of large size; the perianth, or petals, measure from 23^ to 4 inches across with the trumpet, or tube, 13^to 2 inches in length. Flowers are borne on long, stiff stems from 12 to 18 inches. The trumpets of this type are as long or longer than the perianth segments. King Alfred. Golden yellow perianth and trumpet. Considered the most desirable of all the deep yellow varieties. 20c. each; $1.75 per 10; $15.00 per 100. Emperor. One of the best known Daffodils.
