The Lawrence minea is the only one having a mill, and practicallyall the properties in the district are still in the prospect stage. At the Lawrence mine the ore is silver-bearing galena in quartziticslate. The vein is very irregular, but several large shoots of high-gradeore have been found. The ground between the ore shoots is poorand systematic development is needed to insure a regular supplyof ore. Several parallel ledges are reported to occur on the property,but only one had been opened in 1917 and that to a comparativelyshallow depth. The mill, which has a capacity of 50 tons a day, isequipped with crushers, rolls, jigs, and tables, and makes a high-grade lead concentrate carrying 11 to 15 ounces of silver to the ton.There is no flotation equipment. «Flagg, A. The limestone that outcrops on the shore of Lake Tend Oreille atSquaw Bay near Lakevie^ should be mentioned, as it has been usedas an ingredient for making cement in Spokane and should be consid-ered as a mineral asset of importance to Bonner County.
