In dem weiteren Teile seiner Abhandlung befaßt sich der Ver- fasser mit den Messungen der Oberflächenspannung- der s. g. wässe- rigen Kolloidallösungen der Metalle. Diese wurden nach der Me- thode von Bredigl) hergestellt. Gemessen wurde die Oberflächen- spannung der Gold-, Silber- und Platinlösungen. Im Gegensatz zu den organischen Kolloidallösungen hat man die Überzeugung gewonnen, daß die Oberflächenspannung dieser Metall- lösungen kaum merklich von der Oberflächenspannung des reinen Wassers abweicht und daß der Temperaturkoeffizient für diese Lö- sungen und für Wasser derselbe ist. Der Unterschied zwischen Metalllösungen und den organischen Kolloidallösungen ist also ein auffallender. Hierdurch wird uns die Vermutung nahegelegt, daß die s. g. Kolloidallösungen der Metalle keine eigentlichen Lösungen, sondern !) Ztschr. f. d. angew. Chemie, 1898, 951.
