Sr.&JZ Fig. 2. Schnitt derselben Serie wie Fig. 1, weiter medialwärts. Bezeichnung wie in Fig. f. hinter (kaudal) dem Querfortsatze des dritten Wirbels. Dieser Raum ist von vorne durch den Querfortsatz begrenzt, von rückwärts durch die Wand des Lymphherzens, dorsal durch den Musculus serratus médius und ventral durch das Ligament, welches das Herz an den Querfortsatz des dritten Wirbels anheftet. Diesen Raum können wir kurzweg als subkostal bezeichnen, da er unterhalb jenes Teiles des Processus transversus des Wirbels Hegt, welcher der Rippe entspricht (Wiedersheim). Dieser Sack hat drei Mündungen. Eine derselben liegt lateral und setzt sich in die Herzwand als ein ziemlich geräu- miges jedoch kurzes Gefäß fort (Fig. 3 v. 1), das die Herz wand quer durchschneidet und das an seinem Ende eine aus zwei Teilen
