THE NEW CELLULOID PAPER CUTTER AS A SOUVENIR. On the outside cover pages of the Faem Annual will be found a facsimile of the handsome new Celluloid Paper Cutter, which we will present FREE as a Souvenir for 1895 to every customer whose order amounts to not less than one dollar, and who asks for it when ordering. Last spring we had a sample lot of one thousand manufactured, which were sent exclusively to editors and dealers in seeds. From these we have received so many appreciative letters (like the few below) that we believe many of our customers will gladly wel- come this handsome premium as a Unique Novelty foe 1895. REMEMBER! Every one who sends us a dollar order from this Cata- logue is entitled to receive, entirely FREE, either one of these paper cutters OR any one of the four other premiums described on the opposite page. With "2.50 order you can have any three, or with a $4.00 order all five of them. 4®= If, however, you should prefer any of THE BOOKS on pages 9 to 12, please remember that you are entitled to a credit often cents on each dollar.HiSDi The Golden Rule Co., Boston, Mass., April 3, 1894, writes:—Allow us to thank you for your kindness in sending us the unique little paper cutter, which will certainly remind us that Burpee's Seeds Grow." We are interested very much in watching the various developments which your enterprise suggests, and hope that you may always win the success you so richly deserve. The Christian Nation, New York, April 7, 1894, writes:-Thank you for the kind reminder of your house at hand, the envelope opener, which you will note in our issue of April 11th. It is a bright idea, worthy of your highly esteemed house, and suggests a long train of thought, some hints of which we give our readers. Wilmer Atkinson Co., The Farm Journal, Philadelphia, April 4,1894. writes : —Let us thank you for your reminder that " Burpee's Seeds Grow." It did not need a reminder, however, to impress us with this idea, as the thought is now incorporated as part of our nature. Let us hope the beans when cooked won't be as tough as they are in their present shape. From Farmers' Home Journal, Louisville, Ky., April 7, 1894-.—Messrs. W. Atlee Burpee & Co , the well-known seed growers, of Philadelphia, have favored this office with a novel paper cutter that is both unique and useful. The handle is a good representation in color, size, and form of a pod of Burpee's Bush Lima. The expression now so common among seedsmen that " Burpee's Seeds Grow" is founded on fact. From American Gardening, New York, April 14,1894:—W. Atlee Burpee & Co., of Philadelphia, send a celluloid envelope opener, reminding us on one side that "Burpee's Seeds Grow," and on the reverse, by a well-drawn illustration of the natural-size pod of Burpee's Bush Lima, that " there is only one true large Bush Lima." The Christian Nation, New York, N. Y., April 11, 1894:—Our thanks are clue Messrs. W. Atlee Burpee & Co. for a novelty in the form of an envelope opener, suggestive of lus- cious Lima Beans, etc., reminding us of the fact, already demonstrated" to countless thousands, that "Burpee's Seeds Grow." At this season, this neat "opener" is pro- phetic of the opening spring, the opening soil, and the opening up of larger hopes and more prosperous times about to be inaugurated as a result, of the generous and judicious advertising done by the highly esteemed Philadelphia seed house of W. Atlee Burpee & Co. From American Fancier, Johnstown, N. Y., April 14, 1894:—We are indebted to W. Atlee Burpee & Co.\ Philadelphia, Pa., for a most unique letter opener. The handle is shaped like a pod of the famous Bush Lima Bean. On one side the natural size of the pod and bean is excellently reproduced in color; on the other is found the now famous trade-mark, " Burpee's Seeds" Grow." It is a pleasant reminder every time we open a letter of that most luscious of all beans, the Lima, of which no better variety exists than Burpee's Bush Lima. William Meggat, Wethersfield, Conn., April 5, 1894, writes:—Your kind favor of the 30th ult. to hand, enclosing Burpee's Bush Lima Bean Paper Cutter. It will have an honored place on my desk. Word and Works Publishing Co., St. Louis,Mo., April 5, 1895, writes:—We are in receipt of the novelty that will constantly and pleasantly remind us that " Burpee's Seeds Grow." Pitcher & Manda, Short Hills, N. J., April 4, 1894, write:—We wish to thank you for the hand- some paper cutter just received, bearing your firm advertisement. It is a capital idea, and very useful. The Nebraska Seed Co., Omaha, Neb., April 4,1894. write:—Your paper cutter at hand, for which please accept our many thanks. It is a very unique novelty, and we shall keep it as long as we are in the Jgi? / seed business, thereby remembering that Burpee's Bush Lima Bean is the best Bush Lima in existence. C. W. Zuck, West Millcreek, Pa., April 11,1894, writes:—Your paper cutter, a facsimile of your cele- brated Bush Lima Bean, is received; thank you heartily; it will prove a much needed article. As to your seeds, I can say you have never sent me any poor ones; they have always proved true to name, and all are sure to grow, "which is more than I can say of any other house I have bought of,—and I have sent to a great many for seeds. Miss C. H. Lippincott, Minneapolis, Minn., April 5, 1894, writes:—We acknowledge receipt of the unique paper cutter, representing a natural-size pod of Burpee's Bush Lima Bean. Looks natural enough to eat, and the next time anyone says we don't know " beans," will draw this weapon on them. J. G. Peppard, Kansas City, Mo., April 6, 1894, writes:—Your favor of the 30th ult. to hand, also the / paper cutter, for which accept thanks. It is a very unique idea blended in a very useful article. Edward L. Coy, West Hebron, N. Y., April 2, 1894, writes:—The beautiful little paper cutter which you f I so kindly sent us is just received. It is certainly a unique as well as a useful gift. As to-morrow is my birth- day, I will consider it as a birthday present from friends who are rapidly demonstrating to all who are so wise as to plant them that " Burpee's Seeds Grow." John S. Weybright, Double Pipe Creek, Md., April 7, 1S94, writes:—Your favor with paper cutter received, for which accept thanks. Your motto, "Burpee's Seeds Grow," is all O. K., for we have tried them and know.
