C19 chinese cash
Description
English: A post medieval to modern cast copper alloy coin. It is a Qing dynasty Chinese cash, dating to between 1644 and 1911 AD. The coin is circular with a central square perforation. Probably a ½ tael or 5 zhū. Cash was often carried on a cord. The coins were often brought back to Britain by travellers, soldiers, and sailors. The diameter is 44mm and the weight 47.10g.
