Title
COIN
Description
English:

A lead disc, 26mm in diameter and 6mm thick, weighing 39g. Each face has an image of a Henry II or III voided shortcross penny.

Obverse: HENRICVS REX with sceptre
Reverse: Voided short cross legend reads cf.: [ ] GNVNAL ON SNOT[ ]

The coin has been made using a die ie., it is not a retrograde impression from a real Henry penny.

The patina of the lead is a dark grey.

This is highly likley to be a modern museum replica or trial piece manufactured by the known commercial replica manufacturer Grunal Moneta (website active on date of this record - http://livinghistory.co.uk/homepages/grunalmoneta/index.html). The reverse legend 'SNOT' being a play on 'Nottingham'.
