Description
English: California Army and Air National Guard aviation crews flew their helicopters around Ione, Calif., April 11-12, 2015, during CAL FIRE's wildland firefighting training preparing for the upcoming wildfire season by picking up water in 660 and 2,000-gallon buckets and dropping their precious cargo on Lake Pardee's surrounding hillsides so the water could seep back into the lake. California is in its fourth straight year of drought and every drop counts. Crews from Moffett Field's 129th Rescue Wing flew their HH-60 Pave Hawk, Stockton-based Bravo Company, 126th Aviation Regiment flew both the older D model and their new F model CH-47 Chinooks, 3-140th Aviation Battalion, also from Stockton, observed and mapped in their LUH-72 Lakotas, and Mather's Task Force Medevac UH-60 Black Hawk from C Company, 1-168th General Support Aviation Battalion and F Company, 2-135th General Support Aviation Battalion.
