Description
English: Students and faculty from Emek Hebrew Academy Teichman Family Torah Center in Sherman Oaks, California, speak to a Soldier from the 270th Military Police Company, 49th Military Police Brigade, California Army National Guard, prior to start of Vigilant Guard 17 at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) California Task Force 1, Los Angeles. “One of the cooler things was, some of the females came up to me asking, ‘Well why can’t we be in the Army?’ Well guess what? I actually have some female Soldiers here who have been successful, who have deployed,” explained 1st Lt. Brian Frizzle, 270th executive officer. “A lot of them came up and for a half hour got to sit down with some of our female Soldiers and said, Yes, you can join the military too. It’s not just for boys.” (Army National Guard photo/1st Lt. Michael J. Molina)
