No. 272. Oscillating Belt Sander for Edged and Shaped Work This style of belt sander has a capacity several times greater thansanding drums or spindles. The high speed sand belt covers a longsurface and retains its sharp and fast cutting properties. The longtravel of the belt gives it an opportuntiy to cool off between contacts,whereas on drums and spindles, where the sanding surface is small,the wear is continuous and in one place. It will also finish practically any piece of straight or bent work thatcan be supported on the tables or held against the platen or sandingrolls. The design and construction eliminates all chance of vibration, thus in- suring a perfect sanding contact. The tables provide an even andaccurate support for the work, and as the belt travels with anoscillating movement, a perfect finish is assured.
