The mills are already far behind on orders andare finding it almost impossible to fill those on hand,due to the scarcity of logs. In the south—mills are working to full capacityand reports are that they have a fair supply of logs.Most Of these mills are promising 30 to 0 days de-livery. Manufacturers will do well to anticipate theirneeds and place orders before the coal and grainmovements places an embargo on other commoditiesand thus avoid serious delays. The first store to deliver goods to a customershome rendered a service that the customer was quickto acknowledge. Now that every store gives freedelivery of purchases, and so it is the expected thing,few customers pay the slightest attention to it—ex-cept when delivery is late.
