ABBY JANE (ELLIS) SNOW1869-1870 Abbv Jane (Ellis) Snow, daughter of William and Jane(Endicott) Ellis, was born in Canton, April i, 184L Shereceived her earlier education in the public schools of Canton,and graduated from the Bridgewater Normal School in 1858.She taught school in Norton, Norwood and Canton. In 1865she married George Henry Snow. In 1869 she accepted theposition of assistant teacher in the High School, where sheremained for two terms, afterwards teaching IntermediateSchool in District No. 7. MARY (PRESCOTTj SMITH1872-1873 and 1876-1881 Mary L. Prescott was born March 24th, 1848, in the town of Ran-dolph, Mass. She was educated in the public schools of that town, andat the age of seventeen entered the Bridgewater Normal School, graduatingJanuary 28th, 1868. The following spring she began teaching in an Inter-mediate School in the town of Holbrook, remaining through the springand fall terms. In the spring of 1869 she took a school in the Primarygrade in Randolph, being transferred after a short period to one of theIntermediate Schools in the Prescott school building. In 1871 shereturned to Bridgewater to fit for higher grades of school work, remainingthere one year. In September, 1872, she began teaching in the CantonHigh School as assistant. The second year opened favorably, but suddensickness in the family called Miss Prescott home. Her position was leftopen for the space of one year, a substitute, Miss Susie Felton, havingbeen provided. The sickness continuing, she was n
