Notes | Auckland Provincial Rugby cap 1909-1914 awarded to George Maurice Victor Sellars One of three rugby caps of Private George Maurice Victor Sellars, former Ponsonby Club player, Auckland representative, Maori Team player (1910) and 1913 All Black. Sellars also served with the Auckland Infantry Regiment and was killed in action at Messines on 7 June 1917, one of 800 New Zealanders, with no known grave, commemorated at the Messines Ridge (NZ) Memorial. He was one of ten All Blacks who lost their lives during WW1. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
