Description
English: A young Afghan girl from Kandahar province is treated for burns on approximately 30 percent of her body by Afghan doctors and U.S. military nurse mentors at the Afghan National Military Hospital. According to her father, the girl and her younger brother and sister were burnt by a lamp that exploded in their house a week ago. Her brother and sister were unable to survive their burns and infections and passed away last night. Although the girl has only a small chance of surviving her injuries and infection, U.S. military doctors are hoping to save her by transporting her to Bagram's Craig Joint Theater Hospital tommorow morning, so she can receive surgery and post operation care. The children's father expressed thanks to the U.S. military for assisting his children when other Afghan hospitals were not equipped to care for them.
