English: Copper alloy

Casket Key fragment. Bit and stem of a small rotary key cut from cast sheet metal. The bit has a single cleft in its lower edge. Diagonal file marks appear along the top of the stem. Suggested date: Medieval, 1175-1375.

Length: 17.8mm, Width (bit): 7.4mm, Thickness: 2.4mm, Weight: 1.18gms.
