Casket key.
Description
English: A copper alloy casket key c.1150-1200 (Medieval). A small key with circular bow, hollow shank end and simple bit. The bit has two symmetrical rounded clefts. The end of the bit is offset to the shank. Dark green patina. It is very similar to no. 294 (Egan Medieval Household 1998:223 fig.86). Length: 43.70mm; width: 13.51mm; thickness: 5.34mm; weight: 8.60g.
