Title |
Casket key |
||
Description |
English: A near complete copper-alloy casket key. The bow of this key is worn and circular in shape, measuring 11mm in external diameter and 7mm in internal diameter. There is a small rectangular collar between the bow and the stem. The stem is oval in shape and solid. Only one bit remains on the broken terminal of the shank, although it is not clear whether there would have been an opposing bit, or simply just one. The stem is hollow at the break. This key is medieval in date and is most likely to be a casket key. |
