PEWAUKEE. (See page 60.j Alexander. Of Russian origin. A very large and beautiful deep red or crimson Apple of medium quality. Arabskoe (Arabian Apple). Of Russian origin. Large, three inches in diameter ; greenish yellow ground ; flesh fine grained, white, juicy. Fall Pippin. Very large, roundish, oblong, yellow ; flesh tender, rich and delicious. Fanieuse (Snow Apple). INIedium size ; deep crimson ; flesh snowy white, tender, melting and delicious. Porter. Medium to large, oblong ; yellow ; flesh tender and of excellent flavor. Golden Russet. :Medium size, and russet, with a tinge of red on the exposed cheek. Hubbardston's Xonesiicli. Large ; striped yellow and red ; tender, juicy and fine. Red Bietigbeimer. A rare and valuable German variety ; fruit very large, skin pale ; cream colored ground, mostly covered with purplish crimson. Roxbury Russet. Medium to large ; surface rough, greenish, covered with russet ; keeps till June. Rhode Island Greening. Everywhere well-known and popular ; fruit rather acid, but excellent for dessert and cooking. Twenty Ounce. A very large, showy, striped Apple of*fair quality. Baldwin. Large ; bright red ; crisp, juicy and rich ; one of the most popular varieties for table use. Belle de Boskoop. Large, bright yellow, washed with red on sunny side ; flesh, crisp, firm, juicy; quality very good ; a late keeper. Ben Davis (New York Pippin, Kentucky Streak, etc.). A large, handsome, striped Apple of good quality. Canada Reinette. Very large, flattened, ribbed ; dull yellow ; flesh firm, juicy and rich. Cooper's 3Iarket (Cooper's Redling). Medium size, conical; red; handsome; quality good; one of the latest keepers and therefore very valuable. Dominie (Wells of Ohio). A large, fine, striped apple, resembling^the Rambo. Eno-lisb Golden Russet. Medium size ; dull russet, with a tinge of red on the sunny side ; highly flavored. Esopus Spitzenburg. Large ; deep red, with gray spots, and densely covered with bloom ; flesh yellow, crisp, rich and excellent. Jonathan. Medium size ; red and yellow ; flesh tender, juicy and rich. Lady Apple (Pomme de Api). A beautiful little dessert fruit; flat; pale yellow, with a bright red cheek; flesh crisp, juicy and pleasant. Whale-Oil Soap is a cheap and effective Insecticide.
