81 Bnrbank's New California Strain

The New California Strain have extremely bold nowers—often rive inches across a single bloom -of great substance, clustered on stiff, compact, low growing spikes, and will endure the fiercest sun and wind for days without injury. In producing this new strain, a million or more of seedlings have been raised, and a careful selection carried on for twelve years. California. The flowers of this remarkable freak are closely packed all around the spike like a Hyacinth, and are often double, having from 10 to 16 petals each; light cherry-rose, striped lilac-crim- son. A single bulb produces from 3 to 5 enormous spikes, very beau- tiful and strikingly distinct. Strong blooming bulbs, each, $1.00; per dozen, §10.00. Sauta Rosa. One of the best of the new dwarfs, particularly at- tractive: flower; dark flesh pink with a salmon sheen, streaked with pur- plish-crimson, and sometimes with black; edges of petals charmingly tipped white. Multiplies rapidly. Strong blooming bulbs, each, §1.00; per dozen, §10.00. Mariposa. Very attractive, large, open flower of greatsu bstance, purest snow white; striped and flaked with cherry - crimson, and sometimes varying from almost pure white to cherry-red. Strong bloom- ing bulbs, each, 50 cents; per doz., $5.00. Siiasta- Unequalled for abun- dance of flowers, which are white, flaked and shaded carmine-rose; flowers closely set on the spike; multiplies with astonishing rapidity. Bulbs, each, 25 cents; per dozen, §2.00. Volo. Pure rich deep^crimson. Bulbs, 50 cents each; per doz., §5.00. Cisco. Clear rose - pink, with salmon tint. Bulbs, each, 25 cents; per dozen, $2.00. Gladiolus C'olvillii. The Complete Set of Six Varieties, one bulb each, for §3.00. Seed of the New (The Bride.) California Strains, mixed, 15 cents per packet. Hardy, pure white. Early, re- quiring only a slight covering of straw or leaves to pro- tect it from the severest frosts. 5 cents each; 50 cents per dozen. MIXED GLADIOLI. The following list of mixed bulbs includes many of the very choicest and most desirable varieties in cultivation: Very fine varieties of various shades of red. Per dozen, 40 cents; per 100, §2.00. Very fine varieties of light colors and white. Per doz., 50 cents; per 100, §2.50. Very fine varieties of rose colors. Price, per dozen, 75 cents. Very fine varieties of yellow. Per dozen, $1.00.
