English: Mashpee, Massachusetts, April 5, 2012. George Baker, Chief of the Town of Mashpee, Massachusetts Fire Department, walks along the west flank of controlled burn at the Town of Mashpee Holland Hill Barrens area of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge. The burn reduced fire risk to neighboring homes and improved habitat for the New England cottontail. It was conducted by the Town of Mashpee, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, State of Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, and Northeast Forest and Fire Management.
