The writer, though not nowin the pastoral work, has had some yearsof experience with them, and may be per-mitted to say that this experience to someextent qualifies him for a judgment, evenon the narrow ground on which but toomany Christians are disposed to consider,the subject of secretism. His experienceconfirms what Scriptural principlesteach; and he desires to have it knownthat if even his experience did not con-firm them, they are nevertheless authori-tative, and would then pass a censure onhis experience.
