Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, near Mexico City, Mexico, ca.1900
Photograph of the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, near Mexico City, Mexico,1900. The church has a tall bell tower at each front corner. The left one also serves as a clock tower. The central dome is also visible. Throngs of people clog the place in front of the church. There are numerous open air stalls for vendors as well.; "The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe near Mexico City, which contains the most sacred relic, The Indian's Tilma with the miraculous painting of the Virgin upon it. The Basilica where the Government's proclamation was recently torn down by the 17 year old heiress causing her arrest." (ca.1900?)
