silver cigarette case that belonged to either 50113 Trooper Frederick Tucker, Wellington Mounted Rifles (killed in action, WW1) or 61715 Private George Mudgway, Wellington Infantry Regiment, WW1 50113 Trooper Frederick Tucker, 2nd Squadron Wellington Mounted Rifles, son of Edward and Sarah Ellen Tucker of Island Bay Wellington was born on 14 October 1872. A married man with one child he enlisted in 1917, commencing duty on 3 November, and embarking with the 29th Reinforcements on 13 November 1917, on SS Tofua. He served in Palestine where he was killed by a sniper on 1 April 1918. George Edward Mudgway (61715) was born on 1 April 1894 at Johnsonville, Wellington, New Zealand. He served with the Wellington Infantry Battalion, 1NZEF, during World War I and was discharged from active service in New Zealand on 27 May 1919. His wife Molly was the daughter of Trooper Frederick Tucker. George Mudgway died on 30 June 1966 at Otaki, aged 72 years
