Description
English: Clock, bracket, verge escapement with bob pendulum and knife-edge suspension, engraved back plate, rack and snail hour strike with snail advanced by flirt. Square brass dial with cherub spandrels. Punched dial centre has mock pendulum. Chapter ring has 1-4 hour divisions inside chapters, 5-minute numerals outside minute numerals. S-N control but no calendar. Case (.2) is ebony veneer with ornate carrying handle at top, fretwork above front door for bell. Glazed back and side panels. Keys (.3 - .4)

Notes The bracket clock developed alongside the evolutions of the long case clock and are simply wooden-cased lantern clock. Case design varies considerably and this bracket clock has a “basket top” with a plain lifting handle.
