English: A two piece lead cloth seal, circular measuring 21mm in diameter. One face has an 'R' in its centre and 'L V M..' aound its boarder the other face has a spade shaped shield within a circle with 'R ( )T E' in its boarder. Cloth seals were used from the 13th to the 19th centuries in Europe to mark cloth intended for commercial sale. |
