Plate same as HNS85E. Other features: W sheet printed on LVG paper, E sheet on paper with both LVG and Bates watermarks. Border yellow, towns red.

This chart overlaps HNS 84 and continues east, extending slightly further north. There are eight variants of this chart in the collection: 85A. Lacks imprint. Shows buildings and roads and an Indian settlement. Shoals shown in outline. There are errors in the latitude numbering. Printed on LVG paper. Page number '2' handwritten overleaf. There are pencil marks on the chart (shallows sketched in and rocks circled) which may have been copied off a later state or be part of the gathering of information for later inclusion. 85A*. Plate changes: Graduation of borders completed. Printed on unwatermarked paper. Border yellow. Coast outlined with a faint green wash. 85B. Plate same as 85A*.
