English: Scale ca. 1:1,300,000. Cover title: Colton's map of South Carolina. Hand colored. Reference meridians: Greenwich and Washington. Relief shown by hachures. "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1855 by J. H. Colton in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York." Includes inset of Fort Sumter and "Colton's plan of Charleston, vicinity & harbor" with index to points of interest. Available also through the Library of Congress Web site as a raster image. AACR2
