English: Soldiers from 1440th Fire Fighting Team, National Guard out of Camp Grayling, Mich., and firefighters from Fort Knox, Ky., Fort Benning, Ga. and Fort Jackson S.C., participated in a joint exercise here, during Vibrant Response 14, Aug. 3, in order to increase their overall technical knowledge as well as prepare for any future combined operations that may take place. The Soldiers and firefighters come from a variety of locations and backgrounds, but come together to demonstrate their capabilities and cross-train on each others' equipment. They are using their equipment to breach through a collapsed building in search of notional injured personnel. Vibrant response is a major filed exercise conducted by U.S. Northern Command and led by U.S. Army North. Approximately 5,000 service members and civilians from the military and other federal and state agencies throughout the country are training to respond to a disastrous domestic incident. |
