Text Appearing After Image:
A bed of Mme. Caroline Testout Roses with another grand bedding Rose, Lady Ursula, shown above •LADY URSULA.^ (See cut.) A delicately tea- scented flesh-pink Rose with unusually large, full flowers of perfect form and high center from which the petals gracefully reflex. 4 PRICES (unless otherwise noted), * Star size, field- grown plants, $1 each, 10 for $9, 25 for $20, delivery not prepaid. -^BETTY. Makes beautifully tinted, long-shaped buds colored saffron, pink and carmine, which open to large, semi-double flowers of opal- escent coppery pink, with rich golden anthers in the center. An exceptionally vigorous grower and very prolific in bloom. Visi- tors to our Rose-garden are alwa^'s delighted with the exquisite form, color and fragrance of this en- chanting Rose, and we have yet to hear from anyone who does not like it. In the fall the blooms are very fine, and they keep com- ing until frost. *KILLARNEY. Flowers intensely fragrant. The buds are large, long, and pointed. Color is ex- quisite—a brilliant imperial pink. A bed of these beauties in full bloom is a sight not easily for- gotten. An ideal Rose for cutting but somewhat subject to mildew on the foliage when grown in low, damp locations. This is the origi- nal, beautiful Killarney from which have sprung Killarney Queen, Killarney Brilliant and White Killarney. You can rely on this Rose for almost continu- ous bloom. •KILLARNEY QUEEN. A sport from Killarney. The flower is the same in form and fragrance as the parent plant. Color is a deep, scintillating rose-pink, very pleas- ing, and the flowers, when open, are immense. Buds are very long and shapely. For best results you should cut this flower when J«""^ m bud form, S'i^ *FRAU KARL SMID. A very vigor- ous grower, producing masses of cup-shaped, delicately scented blooms. Color is soft flesh-pink, with the outside of the petals rosy pink. The petals curl in delight- ful fashion, making a perfect Rose, somewhat like Mme. Caro- line Testout in form. During the hot summer months this Rose kept blooming steadily when many other varieties were resting. Good for mass planting. An en- tire bed of this one kind would be an all-summer delight both for cutting and for garden decoration. •LADYASHTOWN. Pale rose, shad- ing to yellow at base of petals. Flowers large, full, pointed, and freely produced. Makes a beautiful and lasting cut-flower. An ideal Hybrid Tea with practically every good point to its credit that is needed for a perfect Rose.
