English: Congressional staff members and military leaders observe surgical training Feb. 24 during a tour of the Global Medic portion of the joint Combat Support Training Exercise hosted by the Army Reserve's 78th Training Division at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. This training event was focused on the Human-Worn Partial-Task Surgical Simulator, also known as a "cut suit," which represents a realistic way to simulate the look, feel and smell effects of a traumatic injury while allowing physicians to safely perform real procedures on a live person. The staff-delegation tour was designed to highlight the Army Reserve's capabilities as an operational force and the importance of maintaining these capabilities into the future. |
