English: JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-FORT SAM HOUSTON – (Feb. 13, 2017) Personnel Specialist 1st Class Eric Petdan, a native of Cameroon, Africa, and command career counselor assigned to Navy Recruiting District (NRD) San Antonio, stands next to one of two gold anchors situated in front of the NRD headquarters. Originally black, the anchors were painted gold in 2014 after the command was recognized as one of the winners of the Navy’s Manpower, Personnel, Training and Education (MPT&E) Retention Excellence Award for Fiscal Year 2013.
