Horton, a native of Bastrop, Texas, and rescueman with CRASH 5, Marine Wing Support Squadron-274, Regional Command (Southwest), holds a certificate of commendation presented by U.K. Group Captain N.J. Hay, commanding officer, 903 Expeditionary Air Wing, Royal Air Force, during a ceremony aboard Camp Bastion, Helmand province, Afghanistan, June 17, 2014. Marines received certificates of commendation for assisting U.K. forces while responding to an emergency. The citation reads, “The crew of CRASH 5 are a credit to their country and to the United States Marine Corps. Their actions demonstrate the special bond that exists between British and American forces wherever they serve together.” |
